Sexual Assault Support Service will be closed from 25 December to 1 January 2026, and we will return on 2 January 2026. We will not be monitoring or responding to emails during this time but you’re welcome to complete our general enquiry form, and we will respond once we return.

However, during this time, our wonderful after-hours team will continue to man the crisis support line which will remain available for anyone who needs immediate assistance: 1800 697 877. If you are in an emergency or feel unsafe, please call 000.

24 hour Confidential Crisis Helpline

Our 24/7 confidential helpline is available to provide immediate support, guidance, and a compassionate listening ear. Whether it's the middle of the night or a moment of crisis, we are here to offer help and reassurance, ensuring you never have to face this journey alone.
When you call our 1800 number outside of business hours, you’ll first speak to a messaging centre. They’ll ask for your name (you can remain anonymous or just give your first name) and a contact number. One of our counsellors will then call you back within 15 minutes.

Sexual Assault Support Service (SASS) acknowledges the Tasmanian Aboriginal peoples as the traditional and original custodians of lutruwita.
