Sticky Qs Podcast

The award-winning Sticky Q’s is an engaging podcast from Sexual Assault Support Service(SASS), created to support parents, carers, educators and anyone supporting young people. Each episode makes conversations about consent, relationships and sexual safety feel simple, safe and even a little bit fun.

Using short, digestible episodes, Sticky Q’s educates and entertains by modelling clear, age-appropriate and consenting language. By destigmatising topics that are often seen as awkward or difficult, the podcast builds awareness and confidence, helping reduce the likelihood of sexual harm.

Real questions from young people

Episodes are shaped by anonymous questions submitted by students in Tasmanian schools during SASS consent education sessions. These real-world questions range from everyday curiosities like “Should I kiss my crush?” to more complex topics around boundaries, consent, respect and growing up.

Supporting adults to start the conversation

Sticky Q’s is designed to give parents, carers and educators the language, confidence and practical tools to respond to tricky or sensitive questions. It offers insight into what matters to young people today and helps adults feel more prepared for the “sticky” moments that arise at home or in care settings.

Expert guidance, relaxed conversations

Facilitated by SASS Consent and Relationship educators Tom and Adie, with insights from clinical practitioners and subject matter experts, each episode unpacks big topics in a relaxed, conversational style. The tone is light-hearted but grounded, blending practical, evidence-informed guidance with humour and relatability - and modelling how adults can talk openly and without judgement.
